Grit

Let’s nerd out.

Let’s talk about logotherapy. Logotherapy is an approach where you focus on the future and the ability to endure things through a search for purpose.

Does that hit hard for anybody else? Anybody else having flashbacks of 2021? Just me?

It feels like this post could be done there. It needs to be emphasized what this means for people. People have grit. Tenacity. The ability to deal with things. Endurance. Hard shells. Stick-with-it-ness. People are people and there is no doubt they can achieve amazing things. I think of MacGyver (Am I dating myself here?). MacGyver had the ability to manifest tools and get out of situations from hardly anything. People are like this. To grab a the little resources they have had and create lives and meaning and purpose.

I feel like the last couple of years have been years of grit. Years we have had to find meaning in our lives. We had so much taken away in interest of keeping everyone safe (and rightfully so); did anyone else reevaluate what was important? Physical health was definitely noted. We have seen so much death and loss, many of us resolved to be better. Family and friends. How many did we lose? I don’t know if any of us weren’t effected. There’s trauma and grief. Many of us found things we truly enjoyed; art, entertainment, activities. We were forced to rediscover ourselves. I think many of us were existing before. When we were challenged to do things differently, how many of us realized we didn’t just want to live, but wanted to thrive?

What does that look like for you? People have grit. We have made it this far. We have done so much. What can we achieve when we are no longer numb and want to do something different? When we have our meaning? When we have our “why” for doing things? I am curious as to what can be achieved.

All the best.
